Founders Day


Bowdon was founded in 1853 and on Saturday, August 1, Bowdon is celebrating Founders Day with lots of fun activities.

The 29th Annual Founders Day Run begins at 8 am, and the Fun Run starts at 8:45. Proceeds benefit the Spinal Cord Society. The parade is always a hit with children and adults. Come early and bring a chair to get a good spot, the parade starts at 10 am. Afterwards, enjoy live music at the pavilion with lots of craft vendors and games for the kids. Also come hungry, there will be a wide variety of food vendors. Other activities throughout the day include Historical Museum Tours, Bluegrass and Gospel Music, the Watusi Rodeo Band and more, topped of with fireworks at 10pm.

Honey


Comb Honey has arrived! The honey is located at the bottom of the stairs in Booth #10. Get yours soon, there is a limited supply. Also available is 100% beeswax candles and honey candy and dippers.

Hello and welcome to the new blog for The Checker Berry Shoppe in Bowdon, Georgia. We are a large antique store in downtown Bowdon. In addition to antiques, we also offer gifts and handcrafted items including candles, locally made goats milk soap, quilts, birdhouses, pottery, cement garden decor and ceramics.

This blog will keep you posted on new items in the shop and upcoming special events.
